Optimizing

Many people can develop profitable trading systems, but they can often be significantly improved. One common mistake is that traders miss how the strategy act in special scenarios, or how the stategy's performance varies too much for different markets or periods to consider the strategy to be reliable enough for real trading.

We can help you with the optimization of your strategy, but we don't do it in an ordinary manner. Most people associate optimizing with the goal to produce as big historical return as possible, which actually is very risky. The strategy will then be fitted to the historical data and will be very unreliable for future use, which is called curve-fitting or over-optimized.

We are working with optimization with the purpose to make the strategy as robust as possible. This means that we want to achieve a performance that doesn't vary too much. If a strategy can yield a return that is the same every year, no matter if we are in a bull or bear market, we have a high probability to yield the same return in the future.

To make a strategy more robust, we are trying to improve the following parameters:

R-multiple, the ratio of the average profit and loss shall be as high as possible
Opportunity factor, the quantity of trades during a certain time
Lowered standard devation of all parameters
Low drawdown in relation to the gain

Our goal is to get all parameters to be as equivalent as possible during all periods, and have a positive expectation on the return. Based on the performance reports we can tell why certain values of the parameters will outperform the others.

If we do not succed to improve your strategy according to agreed criterias, we will not require any compensation for our work. You have simply nothing to lose - either we improve your strategy which makes you more profitable, or we will refund the cost.
